Sandra Bullock named "Entertainer of the Year"
Magazine "Entertainment Weekly" has announced that Sandra Bullock has topped their Entertainer of the Year list, beating out the cast of True Blood and singer Lady Gaga for the #1 spot.
This has arguably been the best year of Bullock's career so far, as The Proposal became one of the biggest hits of the summer, raking in over $300 million worldwide (her biggest draw ever), and November's The Blind Side became a surprise hit, still making money (sitting at $150 million at the end of this past weekend). Plus, she's garnering her first real Oscar buzz for Blind Side and it seems to be possible, after this week's announcement of the Golden Globe and SAG nominations. Bullock received two GG nods for Best Actress in a Comedy (The Proposal) and Best Actress in a Drama (The Blind Side) and she was shortlisted at the SAG's for Best Actress (The Blind Side), putting her up against other Hollywood heavyweights Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren.
We'll have to wait until February to see if Hollywood's highest accolade is really in her reach when the Oscar nominations are announced.
