winners//2012 NEW YORK FILM CRITICS CIRCLE AWARDS

With a handful of surprises, the New York Film Critics Circle met and released their list of esteemed winners. After a five hour powwow the list proves to be a standard mix of Oscar possibilities and out-of-nowhere surprises. Les Miserables was completely shut out and no one has really mentioned Rachel Weisz in any pre-Oscar talk.
The NYFCC has a pretty good track record with awarding films and performances that end up making appearances on Oscar night. We'll see if any of these will make the cut. Plus, Zero Dark Thirty is definitely mustering its way into the top spot of Oscar contenders.
