nominations//2014 EMMY AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

It was a big morning yesterday for shows like 'Game of Thrones', 'True Detective', and 'Orange Is the New Black' as all three shows earned multiple nominations for the 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards.

With the usual snubs and surprises each Emmy nomination list comes with each year, this year's seemed to be a little more shocking. 'Parks and Recreation' failed to earn a Best Comedy Series nomination, but its star, Amy Poehler, was named. 'The Walking Dead' may be television's most-watched series, but it didn't make the Best Drama Series cut. Melissa McCarthy earned multiple nominations, for her work on 'Mike and Molly' and 'Saturday Night Live', but so did Jim Parsons, Jimmy Fallon, and others. Plus, 'True Detective' will be giving 'Breaking Bad' a run for its money in most of the drama series categories.

Here's a look at the major categories. The 2014 Emmy Awards will take place August 25.
