winners//30TH INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

In what's looking like it'll be a back-and-forth evening at the Oscars for Birdman and Boyhood, the two frontrunners were out in force at the 30th Independent Spirit Awards. Traditionally set the evening before the Academy Awards, the Spirit Awards are a place for the Hollywood elite to let their hair down and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Santa Monica before getting dolled up for Oscar Sunday.

After a pretty stellar award season, this is looking to be a photo finish to the very end. And, with the line between studio pictures and independent film growing smaller each year, the winners tonight may look exactly like the winners tomorrow night.
