For a break in critics group awards, the 18th British Independent Film Awards toasted the best in British indie cinema last night, with regards going to sci-fi flick Ex Machina. In the international category, Room triumphed as the best indie from abroad. Notable honorary awards were also handed out to the likes of Kate Winslet and Chiwewtel Ejiofer.
