winners//69th BAFTA AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

In recent years the BAFTA Awards, awarded by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, have been hit or miss in relation to the following Academy Awards. Also in recent years, they've done their best to continue the reign of unpredictable outcomes, like when 12 Years a Slave and Gravity pulled off a tie in the Best Film category.

This year, The Revenant thrusts itself into the third spot at the top among Oscar hopefuls as it picked up multiple BAFTA Awards, including Best Film. The Oscar race is still wide open between the Alejandro G. Inarritu survival film and Spotlight and The Big Short.
