winners//69th DIRECTORS GUILD OF AMERICA AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

It was another great awards night for La La Land as director Damien Chazelle took home the top prize from the Directors Guild of America at the 69th DGA Awards at the Beverly Hilton.

The film's win continues its domination as the Oscar frontrunner. Fellow Feature Director nominee, Garth Davis of Lion, received the Best First-Time Director award.

La La Land's win with the DGA all-but signals its eventual Best Picture win, as the DGA's winner has traditionally gone on to win the big prize from the Academy, with only seven films falling into the exception.
