winners//2018 NEW YORK FILM CRITICS CIRCLE AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

The New York Film Critics Circle divulged its annual list of accolades, including a few bold choices and a few that are sure to continue the awards conversation for some of the year's best projects.

Lady Bird picked up the Best Film and Best Actress prizes, continuing the indie's rise as one of the year's most-awarded pictures. Timothee Chalamet earned the group's Best Actor prize, becoming the youngest winner in that category in the awards' history. Another first: Rachel Morrison's win in Best Cinematography for Mudbound marked the first time a female has won the prize.

Like Lady Bird, The Florida Project earned multiple awards, including Best Supporting Actor for Willem Dafoe and Best Director.

The winners will be feted at a ceremony on January 3 dedicated to the memory of film critic Richard Schickel.
