winners//2017 LOS ANGELES FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION AWARDS

AWARDS COVERAGE

One of the top critics groups named Call Me By Your Name the year's best film, giving the romantic indie a continued awards season push.

The Los Angeles Film Critics Association bestowed its awards season favorites during a voting session on Sunday. The awards will be handed out at the group's annual dinner on January 13, 2018.

Call Me By Your Name picked up two other awards, including Best Director and Best Actor.

The Shape of Water earned a few mentions, as well. Guillermo del Toro's fantasy film started the season with a large amount of buzz, but things tapered off the past two weeks when the film failed to earn mentions from the likes of the Spirit Awards.

LAFCA also named Max von Sydow as the recipient of this year's Career Achievement Award.
