Joker earns the highest October second-week gross of all time.

Warner Bros. continued its box office win with Joker (#1) as the Todd Phillips comic-book thriller earned an additional $55 million. Its domestic total now sits at $192.7 million. Worldwide, the film has also over-performed, earning over $543 million in just a total of twelve days.

After setting a new October first-week record last week, Joker has now topped the second-week record, beating Gravity's $43.2 million from 2013.

The three wide-release newcomers did decent business, with The Addams Family (#2) opening in second place. The animated family film earned $30.29 million. With just a B+ CinemaScore, the film may still do well throughout the Halloween season, but not for long after that.

Ang Lee's Gemini Man (#3) and Jexi (#9) didn't reach quite the same heights. Gemini Man sputtered to a $20.5 million finish. That would be a nice opening if it weren't that the film cost $138 million to produce. Jexi earned just $3.1 million in over 2,000 locations.

The biggest story of the weekend, however, is Bon Joon-Ho's massive limited release opening of Parasite (#13). The Cannes winner released to just three locations in Los Angeles and New York but saw mostly sold-out crowds throughout the weekend. The film's $376,264 haul gives the movie a $125,421 per-screen average. Not only is that the highest per-screen average of the year, but it puts it towards the top of the list of all-time, besting La La Land's 2016 numbers.

Leaving the Top Ten are Rambo: Last Blood (#11), Good Boys (#14), and War (N/A).

Next weekend, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will open to over 3,700 screens, Zombieland 2: Double Tap hits 3,400 screens, and Jojo Rabbit and The Lighthouse get limited runs.
