News // DIRECTORS GUILD SETS 2019 AWARDS CEREMONY DATE

This past awards season saw Guillermo del Toro take the Outstanding Achievement in Directing award on his way to the Oscar.

According to Variety, the Directors Guild of America has set its 2019 awards ceremony date as February 2, 2019 at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland.

This award marks one of the most notable precursors to the Academy Awards, with a strong track record of matching winners, like last season's del Toro win for The Shape of Water. In fact, all but seven seasons have seen a match since the ceremony began in 1948.
