LeBron James will star alongside Bugs Bunny, with Ryan Coogler producing.
It's been over 20 years since the Tune Squad hit the polished floors with Michael Jordan in the most epic basketball battle of all time. But, the team is getting back together.
Black Panther's Ryan Coogler is producing Space Jame 2, a new adventure set to star modern basketball great LeBron James.
James will also produce the film through his production company SpringHill Entertainment. The first teaser image supporting the film includes a locker room shot naming James as the Small Forward, Terence Nance as the director, Coogler as the producer, and Bugs Bunny as the Point Guard.
The new movie comes on the heels of James' new career with the Los Angeles lakers, a role that positions him in the movie-making city.
This marks James' 16th year of professional basketball, most notably as a player with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bunny's basketball career ended after the original Space Jam. It'll be great to see him return to the court.
SpringHill Entertainment is building quite the busy schedule, with this film in the works, along with its first TV show, called The Shop, positioned for HBO.
The original Space Jam film released in 1996, grossing over $230 million worldwide. It's soundtrack was also successful, earning enough sales to be labeled 6x platinum. It featured the hit single, "I Believe I Can Fly," by R. Kelly.
