Nominees // 70th WRITERS GUILD OF AMERICA AWARDS

Updated: Apr 3, 2018

Oscar hopefuls Get Out, The Big Sick, and I, Tonya are among the crop of nominees for the 70th Writers Guild of America awards.

The guild, containing 12,000 members, only considers films which have been produced under the WGA's jurisdiction.

Films that failed to receive mentions today include Dunkirk, Phantom Thread, and The Post. Steven Spielberg's Pentagon Papers drama was especially expected to be a heavy awards player this season. This absence among the nominees is a harsh blow to its future Academy Awards chances.

The WGA Awards will take place February 11, 2018 in simultaneous ceremonies at the Edison Ballroom in New York City and the Beverly Hills Hilton in Beverly Hills.
