Nominations // 35th INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY AWARDS

Apollo 11 and American Factory could be Oscar darlings.

American Factory, Honeyland, and Apolo 11 lead the nominees for the 35th International Documentary Awards, the preeminent award for documentary filmmaking. The IDA Best Feature award could be a significant signifier of which films could make their way to the Oscar stage.

New this year, however, is IDA's decision to hand out a Best Director award. Notably, all five films nominated in this category feature female directors.

The 35th International Documentary Awards will be presented on December 7, 2019, at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.
