Nominations // 31st EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS

Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War among the nominees for Europe's highest film honor.

A favorite at this year's Cannes Film Festival, Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War earned five nominations for the 31st European Film Awards, more than any other film in contention this year. The film earned nods for best film, director, and acting for Joanna Kulig and Tomasz Kot. Cold War is expected to show up in several Academy Awards categories, including foreign film and cinematography.

Cold War wasn't the only Cannes film to show up among the list of nominees for the European Film Award. Matteo Garrone's Dogman, Ali Abbasi's Border, and Lukas Dhont's Girl also received nominations.

Among notable names to international audiences who ended up with nominations, Rupert Everett was named among the best actor nominees for his work in The Happy Prince. Famed animator, Nick Park, received a nomination in the animated feature category for Early Man.

The 31st European Film Awards will be celebrated December 15, 2018, at a ceremony in Seville, Spain.
