Predictions // 70th PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS

The 70th Emmys take place Monday, September 17, 2018, live on NBC.

Television's biggest night is upon us. Though the evening will now take place on a Monday instead of a Sunday, everything else you'd expect from the Primetime Emmys should happen: from topical humor thrown towards President Trump to a general list of familiar winners.

Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost and Michael Che are hosting the ceremony, which airs live on NBC on Monday, September 17, 2018.

Game of Thrones could be the expected 'big' winner for the night, after sitting out of the 2017 awards season, which in turn allowed The Handmaid's Tale to be a dynamite awards success. But, some are saying HBO's dragon drama could still miss the stage, with Hulu's dystopian drama still earning the most votes.

In comedy, like Game of Thrones last year, previous big winner Veep, will not be competing this year, which gives Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel the clearest and easiest slot to pick up a win for its first season.

There is no Feud or Big Littles Lies, so the star power won't be quite as exciting as last year, but either way, it's still been an incredible year for television. With many calling the current offering the 'golden age of television', it's easy to see why when cinema-like treats fill every streaming service.

Speaking of streaming, this marks the first year a network topped HBO with the most nominations. Netflix earned 112 nods this year. It's the first time in 17 years that HBO wasn't the most nominated network.

After two previous Creative Arts Emmy Awards nights (click here for Night One and Night Two), the 'big' awards will be handed out at the live, televised event. Here are our picks for who and what will win:
