Winners // 2013 NATIONAL BOARD OF REVIEW AWARDS

Updated: Apr 7, 2018

The films winning Best Picture have all been surprising choices so far this awards season. When last year's race seemed to be between Zero Dark Thirty and Les Miserables at all of the precursor events, this year is starting to look less and less certain.

This afternoon the National Board of Review released its list of prizewinners, as well as its list of the Top Ten Films, placing Spike Jonze's Her as the Best Picture of the year. Oscar frontrunners 12 Years a Slave and Gravity  were barely mentioned. Perhaps they aren't as front-running as everyone thought. This is Jonze's fourth straight film to either win Best Picture or be included in the list of Top Ten Films.
