Winners // 2016 AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE AWARDS

Each year, the American Film Institute announces its picks for the Top 10 American films and Top 10 American television shows of the year, usually highlighting usual awards fare and a few surprise choices.

This year's list includes award season darling Moonlight up next to Disney darling Zootopia. While there aren't necessarily any surprises in this year's lineup, Ezra Edelman's O.J.: Made in America earned a special AFI Special Award, an honor not generally handed out.

Honorees will be celebrated at a ceremony on January 6, 2017.
