Winners // 2018 INDIANA FILM JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATION

The Hate U Give adds another critics prize to its mantel.

Critically-acclaimed drama The Hate U Give failed to earn much box office presence during its October release, but is shaping up to be a critics award darling.

The Indiana Film Journalists Association wrapped up the year by giving the film three prizes, including Best Film. Paddington 2 served as the runner-up.

In a season of very wide, inspired choices, the win for The Hate U Give just adds to the mix of surprising Best Film winners from the weekend, including Utah's pick with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
