Winners // 2018 LOS ANGELES FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION AWARDS

Orson Welles's The Other Side of the Wind receives a special mention.

For the fourth time, the Los Angeles Film Critics ASsociation named a foreign-language film as the year's best. The group gave its Best Film prize to Alfonso Cuarón's Roma.

Other winners include awards season darlings like Ethan Hawke, Olivia Colman, and Regina King. The best surprise from the list of winners includes Steven Yeun for Best Supporting Actor for his work in the critically-acclaimed BUrning.

Special awards were announced for director Chloe Zhao (New Generation Award) and Orson Welles' The Other Side of the Wind (Special Citation).

The LAFCA's Best Film winner has gone on to win the Oscar for Best Picture ten times in the past 44 years since the group began handing out awards. The most recent time was Barry Jenkins' Moonlight.

LAFCA is made up of more than 50 film critics based in Los Angeles. The critics work in both print and electronic media.

A special awards dinner will be held January 12, 2019, at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
