Winners // 2018 NORTH TEXAS FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION AWARDS

Green Book and Rami Malek earn top kudos.

Generally, this time of year, the awards season machine has produced quite a few controversies and smear campaigns. But, in a world without Harvey Weinstein, they seem to be fewer and fewer.

The one major controversy that seems to be sustaining is the story behind Green Book. The family behind the real Dr. Don Shirley (played by Mahershala Ali in the film) states that much of the film's plot is fabricated.

Either way, the film has worked itself into the awards season conversation and has now earned a Best Picture win from the North Texas Film Critics Association.

Roma earned the most prizes, including the award for Foreign Language Film.
