Winners // 31st EUROPEAN FILM AWARDS

This year's ceremony was held in Seville, Spain.

The 31st European Film Awards bestowed its Best Film prize to Pawel Pawlikowski's Cold War, a stunning, 1950s-set black-and-white drama that's shaping up to be a major Oscar contender. The film also won the directing and screenplay prizes.

Joanna Kulig, star of Cold War, was named Best Actress. Dogman's Matteo Garrone won for Best Actor.

The People's Choice Award 2018 went to Luca Guadagnino's Call Me By Your Name, a major awards player last year in the states.

Special awards went to Carmen Maura (Lifetime Achievement Award) and Ralph Fiennes (European Achievement in World Cinema Award).
