One of the steadiest predictors of Oscar gold in a category is the Directors Guild of America Awards, who've only missed seven times in awarding the same winner as the Academy.
This year's biggest honor went to Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, for The Revenant. This marks Inarritu's second win at the DGAs in a row, after winning last year for Birdman. He is the first director to accomplish back-to-back wins.
Alex Garland won the First Feature award for Ex Machina.
