Winners // 69th ACE EDDIE AWARDS

Bohemian Rhapsody earns a very important precursor win from the editing guild.



John Ottman and Yorgos Mavropsaridis won major kudos from the editors guild, the American Cinema Editors, for their work on Bohemian Rhapsody and The Favourite, respectively. These wins signify a major precursor moment for both the musical biopic and the costume comedy. Both films are in competition for the Academy Award for Editing.


Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse picked up the win for animated films, beating out box office hit Incredibles 2. On the documentary side, Free Solo earned the editing win.


During the 69th ACE Eddie Awards ceremony, held at the Beverly Hilton, Octavia Spencer presented the Golden Eddie to Guillermo del Toro. Craig McKay nand Jerrold L. Ludwig received Career Achievement Awards.
